This animation compares the eye’s response to light to the ERG waveform generated by the RETeval
As light travels through the eye it triggers an electrical response in the photoreceptors of the retina. This initial electrical response is represented in the ERG waveform as the A wave.
The ERG waveform is represented on this chart with the X axis representing time of response (implicit time) in milliseconds. The Y axis represents strength of response (amplitude) in micro-volts
The electrical signal then transfers from the photoreceptors to the bipolar cells which is represented in the ERG waveform as the B wave.
The electrical signal then transfers from the bipolar cells to the retinal ganglion which is represented as the Photopic Negative Response or PhNR.
