Firmware Update for Your RETeval dispositivo

Version 2.14.0

Release date: March 25, 2025

FAÇA O DOWNLOAD AGORA

Firmware update 2.14.0 is now available for the RETeval® device and can be easily downloaded and installed by either watching the video or using the instructions on this page.

What's New in This Release?

  • An Alignment Aid feature is now available to assist with proper placement of Sensor Strips in relation to the pupil. A box will appear on your RETeval screen after the device detects the patient’s pupil. Proper Sensor Strip placement is important to ensure consistent results. This feature can be disabled under Settings > Testing.
  • Flicker 32 Td∙s now appears in the “Common RETeval” folder on your device. (The “All” folder still includes every protocol available.)
  • The bar chart indicating reference data coloring has been restored on DR Assessment reports.
  • Simplified RFFX output file is now available for automated data import using XML.
  • Other minor bug fixes and enhancements

Installation Instructions

  1. Plug the gray USB cable into the computer that you use for your RETeval device and reports. Then, place your RETeval device into the docking station.
  2. Using the computer that your RETeval is plugged into, click here to open the download page and select “Download” to begin. This may take a few minutes.
  3. Once the download is complete, navigate to the file on your computer. Right click on the downloaded firmware file and select “Copy.”
  4. Navigate to the RETeval folder, which is showing as an external drive when the device is plugged into the computer.
  5. Locate the Firmware folder, open it, and paste the copied firmware file. You can also drag and drop from your download folder. Wait for the computer to fully copy the file over to your device.
  6. Safely eject the RETeval from your computer by right-clicking the USB-like image found under the up arrow on the bottom right of your screen and selecting “Eject media.”
  7. Remove the RETeval from its docking station.
  8. On the RETeval, navigate to “Settings” on the main menu, then choose “System” on the next screen. On the next menu, select “Update firmware.”
Quick tip: If Update Firmware isn’t visible, go back to the Settings page, wait 20 seconds, then try again. The device performs self-checks when removed from the docking station and the Update Firmware button isn’t visible until those self-checks are complete.
  9. The next screen will show previous firmware updates. Make sure you choose Firmware 2.14.0, then select “Next.”
  10. After the update, the device will reboot and bring you back to the main menu. This indicates the upgrade was successful. You can verify that your device is running the latest firmware update by navigating to “Settings,” then selecting “System,” and then selecting “About.” The screen should say Firmware 2.14.0.

Detailed instructions can also be found in the RETeval device user manual, which is available on RETeval Academy.
