Hi, my name is Monica Ranta and I’m a Vice President of International Sales. That means I take care of customers all over the world, excluding US and Canada.  And I have to say I really enjoy my work. I have a possibility to meet people from all over the globe.

Actually I’m born in Poland, I currently live in Finland, I was studying in Sweden and in few other countries. So this is really exciting to be in the international business.

The “LKC  and me” story is very funny because I was about to leave ophthalmology when I got a call from Jim,  our CEO, and he asked me to join this company. When I asked him what product I should sell and he said electroretinogram, I was like “Thank you, but no. Thank you.” However he convinced me to see the product and I was really astonished. It was just amazing.

You see, in being in sales, I have a rule of three: I need to know how the system works, so I need to understand it, I need to be capable to use it and I only work with products that I can recommend to my family members. The RETeval^® device fulfilled all those three. So I joined the company.

What I do now is I just travel all over the world, pure fun, I traveled even during the COVID time actually. What we do is that we visit different hospitals, so you can see here the few pictures with our patients. And I have to say the most exciting, the most emotionally difficult, but also rewarding part of our job is to helping the families with children with vision problems. I have seen tears of joy, I have unfortunately seen also tears of sadness. But at least we give the answer, what’s going on, we give the answer, we help the doctors to make the right diagnosis.

What I would like to tell you is that I really hope that one day you will have the possibility to work with ERG and the VEP and you will see its huge potential to help in the correct diagnosis.
