The purpose of this publication was to compare and correlate retinal microcirculation and function in patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
 
As a result, the publication concludes that flicker ERG along with OCTA can be useful in the detection of preclinical DR and early DR, but once the disease deteriorates, ERG may be more sensitive to discern progression of DR.
