RETeval: Advice for Optometric Colleagues

Transcript

Audrey Brumley, OD: “If I had to tell a colleague that does not yet have the RETeval about the RETeval, what I would say is that it’s a great piece of equipment. The benefit that you get for your patients and for your practice flow is fantastic. The information that you have really helps in some of the trickier cases where you’re leaning a little bit one way, a little bit another way and really trying to decide how to best manage patients.”

Kelly MacDonald, OD: “If I had a colleague that was on the fence about getting a RETeval, I would say that you need to look at your practice. If you’re seeing patients with diabetic retinopathy, if you’re seeing patients who have optic nerve disease, including glaucoma, suspects who can’t do visual field testing. It’s a great device. It’s straightforward. It’s reimbursed well, which is important, but it’s easy for the patient to do, easy to get the clinical information. And while there’s a learning curve on the reports, reports are very well done. It’s a much shorter learning curve than when we all brought OCTs into our clinics. So you’ll get there. It’s easy.”
